The Elbas market is a market for power trading that leads to physical delivery. It enables real time trading around the clock every day of the year, covering individual hours up to one hour before delivery. Its function is to be the aftermarket to the Elspot market at the nordic power exchange Nord Pool. The participants are power producers, distributors, industries and brokers from Finland, Sweden, Eastern Denmark and Germany. The Elbas market has three market makers: E.ON Energihandel Nordic AB, Vattenfall AB and Fortum Power and Heat Oy. The Elbas market is maintained by Nord Pool Finland Oy.
